ufgeorge, Are you running anti-virus or backup software on the same machine as GFI MailArchiver? Third party anti-virus and backup software make MailArchiver mal-function because they deny MailArchiver access to certain files (normally emails). Can you please disable this kind of software from scanning the MailArchiver directory and the <:\Program Files\Common Files\GFI> Do you have any Firewall which could be blocking the connection? Could you also run a netstat -abno in CMD to see if any other application is using port 8018.
