Currently we have mail essentials on a sbs2003 box. We want to upgrade protection by also installing mailsecurity. I don't want to bog down the current sbs2003 box with both mailsecurity and mail essentials.

Is it possible to leave mail essentials on the sbs2003 box and create a gateway machine (mx pointing to it instead of sbs2003.) with mail security on it and have both mail essentials and mail security work?

Example:

gateway machine:
mail security

SBS2003:
Mail essentials

OR is this not a viable option
