When I try to install the beta on Windows 7,
I receive the error that I need the SMTP service, although the service and IIS is running.

Any suggestions ?

Hi PeterDeWilde,

Please note that Windows 7 support is only for GFI FAXmaker Client.

The reason why Windows 7 is not supported by GFI FAXmaker Server is that the product requires SMTP Services on the host machine and it is not possible to install SMTP Services on Windows 7 platform as these are not included with the OS.

Hi tboggs13,

Currently there is no beta version for GFI FAXmaker Client but we're expecting to have one next week.

In the meantime, you might want to try the current GFI FAXmaker Client (20090625) where tests done on Windows 7 showed that it's quite stable even though not officially supported.

Any update on the client? I am trying to deploy the current release silently on 7 (or Vista for that matter) but it doesn't create the printer object. The app is installed but with no driver, it doesn't work. So, I contacted support and they referred me back here.

I too would like to know if a Windows 7 client is available. The one piece of software holding us back from deploying W7 is Faxmaker.
