Can I install MailEssentials on the same server that we have MailEnable SMTP running on?

We use MailEnable to process all our internet/external email and pass it on to our Exchange Server 2003.
I want to add some SPAM filtering to the setup and have been pointed towards GFI MailEssentials.

I have looked in the installation manual online and it mentions setting up an IIS SMTP Virtual Server, would I still do this even though I have MailEnable installed?

I am hoping that its a simple case of:

1) Installing GFI MailEssentials and configuring it to listen on Port 25 for the internet side and Port 26 for the internal MailEnable side
2) Update MailEnable to use port 26 for incoming and outgoing traffic
3) Update Exchange Server 2003 to listen out for SMTP traffic on port 26

Any help/advice will be appreciated

Thanks, Mark

If you insist on using MailEnable as well, I'd tackle it something like this:

Configure MailEnable to use alternative port, eg 26.
Install and configure IIS SMTP VS on port 25.
Install ME and configure.
Configure IIS SMTP to forward inbound email to localhost, port 26.
Configure MailEnable to forward outbound email to localhost, port 25.

As an alternative, install ME on the Exchange server, but you won't be taking advantage of reducing the load on MailEnable.
