amitaggarwal -> W3C logs for Exchange 2007 (22.Sep.2009 7:43:23 AM)

Hi,

We have installed GFI EventManger 8. We have Exchange 2007 in our environment for which we are collecting the events in GFI. The W3C logs collector is not working. It is giving the error :

Unexpected error when opening \\<servername>\D$\Program Files\Exchange\TransportRoles\Logs\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive\RECV20090909-1.LOG W3C file on the server.

Please help me in resolving this. What is the best method to collect W3C logs for Exchange 2007.

Thanks

From the GFI EventsManager server, can you click Start -> Run and type:

\\<servername>\D$\Program Files\Exchange\TransportRoles\Logs\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive\RECV20090909-1.LOG

Does this file open ?

Yes, the file is opening properly in Notepad.

What account is the GFI EventsManager service running as? Does it have the same permissions you do (both NTFS and Share) permissions? Are there any Alternative Credentials specified for this machine within GFI EventsManager?

The service is running with the domain administrator credentials. I am logging with the same user id and was able to access the file via run command.

The credentials are all correct.
