Hi,
i'm using LanGuard V.9 and got the following Problem:
Setting up a Scheduled Scan using a txt-File, located on the local harddisk (D:). Everything works, no problems.
Now i'd like to change the location of the txt-Files to a Network-Path (for example: Y:). But the result is an Error:
Network Discovery "File not found Y:\Testlist.txt"

Does anybody got any idea?
Thanks for your help!

Greetings from Switzerland, Don

Hi,

It's not working because mapped network drive letters are per user. Y: is therefore not available for the user the GFI LANguard Attendant service is running under.

An alternative is specifying the full network path like "\\computername\d$\scanlist.txt" (just type that path in the file selection dialog). This will of course only work if the attendant service account has access to that shared network resource.

thx for answer.

The service is running under the same user as the drive is mapped.
I tried to specify the full network path (the sevrice-User has full-access on the mapped Drive) but the Error still appears.

I could not reproduce the error. My service runs under .\stelim, I'm logged in as stelim and I can verify that I can access \\computername\d$\scanlist.txt, where <computername> is a remote computer where the user stelim is valid (I'm not asked for any credentials when trying to access that share). A scheduled scan set to target \\computername\d$\scanlist.txt works fine.

Can you provide more details about your infrastructure, maybe using examples like above.
Do you have an AD domain or are you in a worgroup?

Thanks again.
I Have an AD-Domain, the service runs under \a-xxxxx (User with Admin-rights on AD), i'm logged in as \a-xxxxxx and i can access the Share on the Fileserver without asking for username. The user \a-xxxxxxx has full rights on the Share.

Can you try changing the Y:\Filename to \\Computername\Share\Filename.txt ?
