Encode -> Initial splashscreen - how long does yours take to disappear? (1.Jul.2009 3:38:31 AM)

On our system (using version 6.1) it takes 14 seconds between going to the archive web interface to the splash screen disappearing which is a bit slow, 5 seconds max would be better. Version 6.0 was a bit quicker.

What kind of times do you get?

That's strange, if go direct to the search page it loads in less than 2 seconds (i.e. search.aspx) compared to 14 seconds, but don't get the tree pane on the left hand side.

Takes 49 seconds. This is crazy. My system is almost hung due to MA 6.1.  In 6.0 it loaded in about 8 seconds. They need to fix this ASAP.

For now we've changed the entry link to go straight to the search.aspx page, means you can't use the browse / browse by folder / search folder features as you can't see the left tree pane but we don't use those at present anyway.

Hi,

is this delay experience by all users who logs in GFI MailArchiver or just by GFI MailArchiver administrators?  In the latter case, we added some tests that check if there is something wrong in the installation.  If the tests detects so, the Administrator will be directed to the Summary Page and the fault will be indicated.  However, in our tests this was not slow as 49 seconds - our tests only showed few (1 to 5) seconds more.

In our case it's non administors (14 seconds for non admin, 17 seconds for admin)

Can GFI figure out why this program is taking up so much system resources. Version 6 was much more stable than 6.1. I have to restart my server every few days to clear out the memory leak GFI is causing. This machine has 8 GB ram and has never had problems before the 6.1 install.

Hi bjanow,

I sent you an e-mail in reference to your last post.

I look forward to hearing from you so we can get this issue cleared up.

I replied to your email early today and haven't heard anything yet. It just seems like whereas most programs are trying to cut down on system resource, your product is increasing the requirements. Somehow I think the programmers need to revisit 6.1, don't you?

you can also go straight to the page that has the navigation / browse etc, just go to navigation.aspx page (as opposed the search.aspx page for just the search box on its own) for instant load (less than 2 seconds) - this is useful for us as people frequently drop into the archive and having to wait 15 seconds before they can start their search puts people off using it.
