gsprenger@anewhealth.com -> MTA returns service-specific error 9994 after domain controller demotion (29.Jun.2009 9:13:48 AM)

Hi,

After I demoted the domain controller that ran on the same machine as FAXMaker I've received the System Event 7024 with a service-specific 9994 error from the FAXMaker MTA. I've tried everything including full FAXMaker remove and re-install to get this working again.

FAXMaker version is 12.0 Build: 20070131

System worked fine before dc was demoted.

Any clues as to what might be wrong?

Gary

I believe I found the problem.

In Exchange 2000, the Recipient Update Service(s) were pointing to the old non-existent domain controller. To correct this, use Exchange System Manager to change the Recipient Update Service(s) to point to a valid domain controller. In our setup there are two, one for the enterprise configuration and one for the domain. Right click on the service, select properties, click browse and select a valid DC.

I did a re-install of FAXMaker just to be sure. Everything seems to work again.

Gary
