Dear GFI,

I'm setting a budget aside for web cache, QOS technology and web security. I've been told about Blue Coat being a great appliance but due to the high price I would like to consider an alternative.

I was checking out MS ISA 2006 but apparently they are coming out Threat Management Gateway for next year. Does GFI have a competing product as well for next year?

As I would be getting an unlimited licensing, I was hoping it would priced around MS licensing per processor.

Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

GFI WebMonitor will be supporting MS Forefront TMG once this is publicly available. Later on this year we will also have a standalone proxy version of WebMonitor that can run independently of ISA/TMG.

Hi Keith,

Will the pricing be the same as the current webmon 2009?

Is there any preliminary features for the new proxy webmon 2009 that are different from the current webmon 2009 dependent on ISA? i.e. certain additional features?

When is the expected date for the release of the proxy webmon 2009?

Thanks

Adrian

Pricing has not yet been defined for ISA independent WebMon.

All the features currently in the ISA version will also be made available in the independent proxy version. On first release there will be no major new features specific to the non-ISA version.

Public release date is currently planned for early Q4, but a BETA version will probably be available for trial in September.
