RAK153 -> Error running Dick Counter check on x64 server (21.Jun.2009 7:59:55 PM)

Hi all

I'm getting an Error logged in the Application Event log of the target machine when I try to check the Physical Disk Queue length. The error is:

Windows cannot open the 32-bit extensible counter DLL ASP.NET_2.0.50727 in a 64-bit environment. Contact the file vendor to obtain a 64-bit version. Alternatively, you can open the 32-bit extensible counter DLL by using the 32-bit version of Performance Monitor. To use this tool, open the Windows folder, open the Syswow64 folder, and then start Perfmon.exe.

Both the NSM and target servers run Windows Server 2003 x64 however it looks like NSM is trying to use the 32bit version of Perfmon. Any ideas on how I can monitor performance counters on 64 bit servers?

It seems that something is not all right with the performance counter library on the monitored computer. Could you please check this out and let us know if it solves your problem?

Well this error seems to have sorted itself out. The monitoring check is working as advertised and is no longer recording incidents in the target machines event logs.

Thanks
