GFI cannot currently support creating the necessary files for each AntiVirus client that exists, however we have provided a very detailed file that guides you through the process of adding Nod32 (or any other AntiVirus software) into GFI Languard's checks. You can find the file at "Program Files\GFI\Languard 9.0\Data\Security_Updates.xml" Typically, the XML file works as follows: - GFI Languard locates the registry key that indicates the folder path where Nod32 is installed
- GFI Languard identifies the date modified of a specific file or folder (The Virus Definition Update file)
- GFI Languard downloads a file from the software vendor's website and looks at its date modified.
- GFI Languard lastly compares the date modified on these two files to see if the local virus definitions are "up-to-date"
You typically will need the following information on hand to properly edit this file: - The registry key that indicates the file path Nod32 is installed in
- The file name where the local anti-virus definitions are saved
- A URL to the latest virus definition files on the Nod32 server
