In addition to LANGuard we use a competitor's software for pushing patches.  In that software there are options to run scripts (.bat, .vbs, etc) before or after a software deployment.  Is something like this available for LANGuard 9?  In other words, when I go to the Deploy Custom Software I can apply Parameters, however it would be really helpful if you could then call to a script that needs to run after the software deployment to perform tasks.  For example, I need to push out a new version of our Remote tool.  After the new remote tool runs I need to run a script that currently has commands in it to stop the service of the old tool and delete certain files and folders.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

When deploying the custom software you can create a batch file or VBS file that is deployed to the machines that can both copy the new remote tool, and stop the old one.  This is the typical approach to this issue.

Ok, I guess I forgot to mention that the new version is an MSI, the batch file is only to cleanup/cleanout the old version as the MSI for the new one doesn't check or do anything with the old one.

That's okay. You can create a batch file on your own that Uninstalls the old edition, stops the necessary services, connects to a mapped drive and installs the new software all as one file.

Guess I'd better go to scripting school...was able to get my simple script to work to clean things up but it probably wasn't the right way anyway.

Was just looking for the same type of interface I guess.    Thanks though!

Well...that copy option didn't work well (was going to insert it here, but apparently I don't have permissions to insert files.)
