Hello All, looking for some help,

Moved the old Mail essentials and mail security to a new server.
Followed GFI KB.. copied across folder - installed mail essentials, worked like a charm. All old settings appeared and up and runnning in no time. mail security. failed.
Tried to install mail security - got a message
"database version could not be retrieved.Database is either too old to support upgrades or is corrupt.
When i click ok  - i get the '1720 error' - installer is corrupt....
any ideas?

Hi,

Please check the following link for issues related to the 1720 error during installation:
http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002666

Also, could you confirm if the version and build of MailSecurity in the original server and the new one were the same? It is recommended to upgrade the old installation to the latest build before moving the configuration to the new server to make sure there are no incompatibilities betwen builds.

Hope this information helps.

Regards,
