Known Issues: - On Windows XP SP3, SQL Audit will not work.
The Auditing feature in GFI EventsManager requires the SQL Object Management Tools which in turn require MSXML6. On Windows XP SP3, you would need to manually re-install / repair MSXML6, otherwise SQL Object Management does not recognise that it is installed. MSXML6 can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=993c0bcf-3bcf-4009-be21-27e85e1857b1 - Installation of prerequisites fail unexpectedly in certain situations after they are automatically downloaded during the installation of GFI EventsManager.
- Upgrading from a previous version could trigger “database backend failed to update” error.
- Should you encounter this error, you would need to re-configure the database settings manually from the GFI EventsManager console.
- Some pre-defined filters in the Windows Events Browser do not show windows events where the category, user name and possibly other fields are not in English. This is caused when the Windows operating system on which they where generated is not English.
Currently, you would need to to manually translate the strings from the filters which use these fields into the desired language - SNMP traps are not always processed when TCP is used.
- The filters defined in the Events Browser, the default event processing rules and reports which make use of the Windows Event ‘Category’ field can only process the category field for events created on an English operating system.
