This is the release build of GFI EndpointSecurity 4.1. New features within this release include:
  • Added the option to remove a computer from a policy without uninstalling the agent.
  • Increased protection by verifying the file's real type. Common file types are supported (e.g. EXE, MSI, AVI, MP3, DOC, XLS, TXT, ZIP, CAB, JPG).

Changes within this release include:
  • UPDATE: Increased the timeout when creating the database used by the application.
  • FIXED: BSOD when connecting Rainbow Ikey 2032 USB token key.
  • FIXED: Default control groups are not created in Windows Vista.
  • FIXED: GFI EndPointSecurity Report Pack "Synchronizing Scheduler" hangs when applying settings for "Default Scheduling Options”.
  • FIXED: In specific system configuration on Windows 2000, the system hangs when accessing a device in explorer.
  • FIXED: On Windows Server 2008 the IP address of the main installation machine is not determined correctly.
  • FIXED: Permissions are not applying correctly on FDD.
  • FIXED: The notification for agent users to restart the computer is not displayed on some systems.

Changes within this release include:
  • UPDATE: Added detection and control for more Secure Digital bus implementations (Standard, Texas Instruments, Ricoh).
  • FIXED: Added detection in the device scanning tool for PCMCIA controller from Ricoh
  • FIXED: Changed in German resources "Strg+B" text with "Strg+D" and now corresponds to the CTRL+D functionality.
  • FIXED: Fixed memory leak on GFI EndPointSecurity’s agent service.
  • FIXED: Fixed an import problem where only 30 computers were imported when a computer limited license key was used.
  • FIXED: In some cases a backend database created for GFI EndPointSecurity 4.0 was not properly upgraded to version 4.1.
  • FIXED: Logs Browser is not showing all the events in some cases.
  • FIXED: Random BSODs on some systems.
  • FIXED: Synchronizing a Palm device is not working with GFI EndPointSecurity’s agent installed.
  • FIXED: Some types of cab and mp3 files were not properly identified.
  • FIXED: Some printers are not detected correctly and the custom message is not displayed each time the printer is connected.
  • FIXED: The agent is unable to control devices under some Microsoft Vista x64 configurations.
  • FIXED: The agent service is attempting to use Terminal Services when Terminal Services service is stopped, resulting in missing users’ field in connection events.
