Eventsmanager v 8.1.0
Build 20080902

We collect logs from two SQL database servers (one DB per SQL server), 3 Windows DCs and 1 Windows standalone server.

The collection of Windows security and system logs always worked fine but the SQL not. It intermittently stops collecting logs from the database servers. It then requires a restart of the SELM service to make it wake up again.

Under the Status-General windows under Activity overview it shows the last activity for the 2 servers are current but if you look under Job Activity-Server Message History there's nothing there. To confirm I've queried the SELM SQL database where the logs are stored (sql_server_audit Table) and for sure the latest entry is not current.

Sorry to bump an old post, but we're having the exact same issue with our environment monitoring SQL2000 database servers.

Info to add:
Both monitored SQL2000 servers are as above
A single SQL2008 server is uneffected and collects logs as expected.
EM v 8.2.0  (20090302)

Any news on this?

Are there any errors under the Status -> Job Activity page?

The only errors i see consistently are 'rejected count' messages. The last message from either SQL2000 server is such a line where Message Count = 100 and Rejected Count = 100.

After this last message entry there are continued entries from the SQL2008 but no more from either SQL2000 server.
