I have the same problem,CD/DVD control is unchecked.daemon tool still can't start.
I did some test,daemon tool will run only when all the ports and devices was not controlled

We managed to reproduce the issue in house. We are looking into a solution and we will have an update soon. I will let you know on this thread once we have the new build with the fix.

After doing some tests, to solve this issue for the moment you can use an older version of Daemon Tools (like version 3.47) to be able to use the virtual drives jointly with ESEC.
As mentioned, we are working on this issue and we will have an update soon.

Hello,

We have found an implemented a solution for the issue regarding Daemon Tools and other similar virtual CD/DVD drive applications in the latest version of the GFI EndPointSecurity 4.2 (among with other new features and fixes). We have tested with the latest versions of Daemon Tools, Alcohol and some other similar applications and they worked as supposed.

You can download this new version of EndPointSecurity directly from the GFI web site.
