hello all

i am using version 7. w2k3 server and seperate VLANs

i am having some problems getting monitoring checks working as expected.

When i put the servers ip address into the configuration the remote servers respond correctly

when i put the hostname in the server config ICMP still reponds, but all other checks fail with

"Processing Error: Failed to retrieve performance counter value. Error return is 'The network path was not found'"

we want to use the hostnames, in the alerts, as it it easier to respond to names than numbers, as i am sure you all know

i would be grtaeful for any help, thanks for your time

SOLVED - i had file file and print sharing disabled
