This patch should be applied to installations of the following builds of GFI MailArchiver 6: -> 20081107 -> 20090205 If you are not on one of these builds please download the latest build (SR3) from: GFI MailArchiver 6 (32bit): ftp://ftp.gfi.com/mailarchiver6.exe GFI MailArchiver 6 (64bit): ftp://ftp.gfi.com/mailarchiver6_x64.exe Issues fixed: 1. After installing Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, you receive an e-mail notification stating that "GFI MailArchiver failed to transfer emails into the backend database". However, e-mails are still transferred successfully to the Archive Store. At the same time, an event with the following properties is logged in the Application event log: Type: Warning Source: MARC6Core Category: None Event ID: 6310 Description: Plugin LogScheduler reports exception. Logging: Submit failed. Additional info: Port is Busy. All pipe instances are busy. How to apply the patch: 1. Stop the GFI MailArchiver Core service; 2. Make a backup copy of: ..\MailArchiver\Core\bin\MArc.Logging.Scheduler.exe; 3. Replace ..\MailArchiver\Core\bin\MArc.Logging.Scheduler.exe with the one found enclosed in the zip; 4. Start the GFI MailArchiver Core service. Patch can be downloaded from: http://ftp.gfisoftware.com/patches/MARC6/20090205/MARC6_PATCH_20090219_01.zip

The patch is now working for me. There was some issue with the original patch file that was sent to me. We reapplied using the new file supplied earlier today and no more problems to report.

Hi John, I have followed this thread thru and have installed the patch as directed. However since rebooting the machine to complete the upgrade I am now getting an email containing ' GFI MailArchiver failed to transfer the archived emails into the backend database. The following error message was reported: Could not load file or assembly 'MArc.Enveloping.Base, Version=2.0.0.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f28aa2eff54bac51' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)'' In SYSLOG, The GFI MA Import service cycles thru, start, run, stop and then terminated unexpectedly. In APPLOG, MAR6MAIS reports event 6102, 5105, 5107 and then 5106 cycling repeatedly. I have disabled GFI MA Import and Core svs to quieten system down awaiting your advice. Thanks

rmacdonald, I'm checking into why the patch is offline at the moment. I also tried to download this and was unable to. Update - the link is now back online.

gap9000, I am afraid we do not have this patch available for GFI MailArchiver 4. If you have a valid SMA, I encourage you to upgrade to the latest build of GFI MailArchiver 6 and apply the patch mentioned in the above posts.
