Hi,

We have been experiancing a strange problem with MailArchiver outlook connector. This configuration has been working for sometime but suddenly 'some' users Outlook crashed (2003 & 2007 users) with a C++ runtime error. If I go into outlook and remove the GFI outlook connector the program runs without any problems. When I re-add it, a short time later (2/3mins) Outlook will crash!

Please help!

Adam

We started experiencing this problem on Dec. 2.  To date, 4 computers are effected.  The GFI MailArchiver Connector toolbar continuously reads "Synchronizing".  MA is not synchronizing with Outlook clients.  Was running initial MA 6 build.  Upgraded to 20081107 on Dec. 4.  Uninstalled/reinstalled Outlook Connector.  Problem persists.

Don't know if this helps or not, but we are having the same problem with some of our users.  In looking at the MailArchiver from the web portal for one of the users, we noticed that there are a couple of spam messages that are future dated in the archive that are not on exchange side.  We now need to find a "clean" way of getting rid of the messages.

What builds is everyone on?  I see that davery is on the latest build and the problem persists but was curious about everyone else.

Same issue here. I was running 6 SR1 which I think is build 20080924 and was receiving this error... then upgraded to 6 SR2 (build 20081107) to hopefully resolve the error, but now it appears worse! More users are receiving this error than before.

We seem to have our issue resolved. I raised a support query via the telephone and after sending some troubleshooting files I was advised to replace martransport.dll found in \Program Files\GFI\MailArchiver 6 Outlook Connector.

Having done this Outlook has been stable for more than a day. Previously it failed when starting.

Replace the dll with what?  Another copy of the same file.

Received new .dll from GFI.  Replaced old .dll.  Outlook has been running successfully for about 2 hours.

To solve this issue please install the patch below as per the instructions in the readme.txt:
http://ftp.gfisoftware.com/patches/MARC6/20081107/MARC6_OC_PATCH_20081031_01.zip

This patch should be applied to installations of the following builds of GFI MailArchiver 6:

-> 20081107

Issues fixed:

1. This patch fixes an issue whereby under certain conditions MS Outlook will
   crash giving an error similar to "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error!"
