Changes within this release include: - Microsoft Exchange 2010 support
- Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 support
- Authentication: Optimised authentication when using Shared Mailboxes access control
- Archiving: The received date will be used as the sent date if the latter is missing
- Bulk Schema Upgrader: Better handling in user authentication (uses also Microsoft Windows authentication instead of SQL authentication only)
- EEWiz: Possibility to clear ‘email already exported’ flag
- EEWiz: Pause/Resume button during email export
- EEWiz: Possibility to give a new owner to emails exported from a Microsoft Exchange mailbox (similar to the current export from PST option)
- EEWiz: Introduced a new log file called skipfail.log which shows which e-mails have been skipped or failed to be processed
- Improved User Mailbox Folder Structure Copy process for large mailboxes
- Outlook Connector: The user has the facility to pause the email synchronization – Work Offline
- Outlook Connector: Updated toolbar
- Outlook Connector: New Status window with activity tracking and improved progress indication
- Outlook Connector: More options to globally configure Outlook Connector via Active Directory Group Policies
- Outlook Connector: Better handling of self-signed certificates (especially on Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7 platforms)
- PST Exporter: Localised in 4 languages (English, German, Italian, and Spanish)
- Search: Improved performance when searching emails
- Reduced I/O required by UMPolling process on both GFI MailArchiver Core and GFI MailArchiver Store processes
- UI: Search sorting order chosen by user is saved in a Cookie and when the search is performed again the cookie is used to remember the previous sorting criteria and sort by default accordingly
- UI: Reduced startup time to load Web UI
Fixes within this release: - Deleted Active Directory users are not synchronized in Outlook Connector
- EEWiz is unable to access mailboxes on Microsoft Exchange 2003 with no Service Pack or older versions. You would receive the error below when trying to access the mailbox with the proper permissions.
'Access Denied (Error code: 401)' - Inbound emails are not archived when you have exclusions set and the archive restriction mode is in 'Do NOT archive email at all if ANY of the recipients or senders are in the list below' mode.
- If the User Mailbox Folder Copy process is configured to use EWS protocol, sometimes it will be unable to determine the correct owner of an email and displays the error below:
'error:Failed to Resolve Name /O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=USER1' As a result, certain e-mails would fail to be synchronized. - Localisation: When a user selects a language that is not supported by GFI MailArchiver UI and does an Advanced Search which includes a date the search will load an exception.
- Under certain conditions, folder renaming is not processed correctly in GFI MailArchiver.
- When downloading an e-mail as an MSG file using either the “Download E-mail (MSG)” button from within the GFI MailArchiver Web User Interface or the Bulk Export Tool, the conversion may fail and an EML formatted file with an MSG extension is created instead.
- When performing a search in the Bulk Export Tool using the “Folder” criteria, no results are returned. Instead, an error message similar to the one below is displayed:
'A clause of the query contained only ignored words.' - When using GFI MailArchiver Import Service to re-import .bix files which were previously imported using another export tool, it would not get assigned to the correct owner.
- When using the GFI MailArchiver Bulk Export Tool to export emails to a PST, some of the emails in the resulting PST may exhibit the incorrect date.
- When downloading MSG files from GFI MailArchiver, some emails will have empty header fields.
- When using Deployment Manager with a locale which has a comma ‘,’ as a decimal separator, emails will fail to get archived (no emails will be lost – they will get archived later when the issue is fixed).
- When Indexing is set to happen on a fixed time, it gives the impression that Merging is taking long (whole days).
Known Issues: - In some circumstances, when launching the Help file from the Outlook Connector Status window, the first page is not displayed. However, when navigating to other sections of the Help file, the pages appear correctly.
Download Locations: During the install process you will be asked to upgrade the Archive Stores schema. When pressing the Upgrade button, a tool will run to upgrade all Archive Stores and Auditing schemas. However, you can choose to skip this step. If you do so, you need to manually upgrade the Archive Stores created by the GFI MailArchiver 5, GFI MailArchiver 6, and GFI MailArchiver 6.1 builds. To upgrade the existing Archive Stores open Configuration->”Archive Stores” page, click the “Edit Settings” button next to each archive store and complete the Database Wizard. Then open Configuration -> “Mail Servers to Archive” and activate archiving for each journaling location.
