Is there any light at the end of the tunnel allowing us to make configuration changes without having to restart the server for EVERYTHING? I have been requesting this for years and was hoping that v14 would be a massive overhaul, but from a management perspective there was very little change. The most annoying thing for me is that any changes - even simple stuff like coverpage assignments require that the server be restarted. It is absurd that I have to work after hours to change a coverpage because the fax server is in constant use during the day. There are many more things that I have to do after hours, managing faxmaker should not be one of them unless I am changing hardware.

Little consolation I know, but you could always schedule a stop/start of the services out-of hours, that way the restart would happen automatically and you could say when this was scheduled. I have my server restarting the fax services at 4AM every weekday and never have an issue. Yes it means waiting overnight for any major changes to be enacted but at least you aren't in the office until 22:00 whether you like it or not.

Good suggestion, I will consider the nightly restart. Seems a waste for something that should be dynamic in the first place. For me, Faxmaker has always been a solid reliabled product for sending and receiving faxes, but there are several interface annoyances that I was hoping would be improved upon in with the 14 release.

Well I've only been using it for about three weeks, but find it "OK". There could be some considerable improvements made in certain areas, and on-the-fly configuration would be one of them. I guess it's not that different to exchange 2007 though, where certain changes in made in the console rather than command line need a reboot of the IS...

All, Well I have not heard of any such changes being made. What I will say is that making a change to a product that is in constant use is the reason why this is required. It would be difficult to change what is done with a fax while it is coming over the phone lines. That being said your input on the product is very helpful to our developers who need to know how you feel in order to make the product better. I would also like to mention that with Faxmaker restarting the services will only affect incoming faxes. The outgoing faxes will queue up, and if you restart while one is going out it will try to send again once started back up.
