I've searched the forum and I still have questions.

We have EM8 setup to archive all sql audit logs, but we're not getting everything that we would expect.  We are getting log ins and log outs, but we're not getting some things like creation of new databases or queries, etc.  We need to log all of that for PCI compliance.

I read somewhere where somebody metioned setting up a trace on the SQL server.  Do I need to do this and if so how?

Yep. No profiler, no decent DB auditing.
