sdeath -> GFI scan doesn't match the Microsoft scan (2.Jul.2008 6:14:18 AM)

Hi, I have just installed and started using this product and notice that a scan from GFI doesn't match a scan from Microsoft.  Is there any reason for this?

Thanks.

Our software scans for security patches from Microsoft.  There will be several other non-critical patches that Microsoft may detect that we do not scan for.  A complete list of patches we recognize can be found here:

Thanks for the reply Drew.

In this particular instance the Microsoft scan is saying that MS08-031 is required but doesn't appear on the GFI scan.  But on the other hand, GFI says that MS08-024 is required but doesn't appear on the Microsoft scan.  Both of these patches are described as being critical and both are supported by GFI.  Am I missing something?

Thanks.

I have some new computers that I upgraded to XP SP3 and updated from Windows Update. When I scan them with LanGuard, I see missing patches in the report. Anyone else see this kind of mismatch?

Joe,

What missing patches are you noticing?
