Ancient -> Languard Scan result questions (1.Jul.2008 7:37:11 AM)

Hi,

I'm new to this software and just recently installed it fro testing purposes. I have no idea how to fix the things it says need to be fixed. I've included a picture so you can see what I'm talking about.

Can someone school me on how I would go about closing these open ports ? Or finding what is opening them? It's confuxing because when I scan my computer at grc.com / shields up it says my computer is completely stealth.
Also, how can I fix the vulnerabilities that languard has given ?

thanks

It seems the server may be running several services such as a Web Site (port 80) Pop3 (port 110) and perhaps SMTP (port 25.) Many of these are necessary if you know your computer hosts a website for your company.

We would need a complete list of the ports open to further help you.  You may also try running the following command from a command prompt:   netstat -ab > C:\OpenPorts.txt

This will allow you top open C:\Openports.txt and look at the executable that has opened the port.  You'll be most interested in the rows that list LISTENING in that file, as those are the open ports on your machine.
