We have our NSM v7.0 set to send SMS text messages and email alerts when it discovers failures.

If we set a group to receive the text messages this is fine. But if we then set that same group to receive emails then they do not get any emails. I have tried setting the recipient list to include the individual users but this does not work either.
I have had to to use the administrator as a recipient and designate the email address as support@blah.com, then creating an Exchange distribution group with the recipients in that group. This works.

Conversely to get NSM to text multiple people I have to create a group in NSM and put NSM users into that group assigining mobile numbers to the individuals.

The SMS side I understand - but why we cannot use groups for the email alerts ?
The only account that receives emails is the administrator one. If you try and designate anyone else then they get no emails.

Is this right ?

Please look at the properties of your users in GFI Network Server Monitor.  If you were to right click on a user and select properties, you will see an Alert tab.  Please ensure that this user is configured to receive email alerts, along with SMS alerts during both Normal Working Hours and outside normal working hours.
