I have a site running marc5 20071109. The have their databases rollover every 6 months. This has been working fine.

They went to search for a series of emails following the last rollover (1st May) but no results are returned.

We can browse emails OK, but can t search. i have rebuilt the indexes (twice) and still nothng shows.

I am looking to upgrade to the latest build but want to resolve this issue first.

any ideas

Sounds like an index problem.  Looks like a lot of people have been having this problem in v5.  What does it say next to Index emails in the databases stats page?  I'm guessing it says 0.  Maybe they'll release a FIX or tell us how to fix this problem in V5.

In addition to carlsond's question, it may be a good idea to udpate to the latest build of version 5 which includes several updates to how indexing works if you are on the 20071109 build.  Not being able to search can definitely be related to indexes not completely building.

the stats show 14151 mails indexed.

I will download and update in the next few days.

FYI

have just updated to latest build, when running through the database upgrade it reported that the search index was corrupt. I have set it to use a new folder and commenced re-indexing.

Yes, please let us know.  I'm curios to see if it rebuilds your index.

the rebuild has completed and can now search for the expected results. Not convinced that its OK yet though. Will have to let the client check it out.

I've seen your other post, i initially tried an idex rebuild but that didnt help.

If you've not upgraded yet, try resetting the index path and then starting a rebuild

I would recommend upgrading heavily as the 20080430 build of GFI MailArchiver really improved on indexing.
