alexnaydenov -> ISA 2004 General Check failing. (26.Jun.2008 11:25:07 AM)

Hello,

I’ve migrated all the checks from a server with  Network Monitor 7 build 20070129 to a new server with Network Monitor 7 build 20070803 installed on it. After the migration I have problems with the general ISA 2004 check. I get en error “Failed: Unable to access '10.0.0.10'. Possible reasons: no WMI installed on the remote server, no rights to access remote WMI service, or remote server down”. I did verify that WMI and VBSCRIPT 5.6 are installed on the new server and that the new server is added to the correct rules of the ISA server firewall policy. The “Enforce strict RPC compliance” is not set on the ISA servers. On the old server this check is succeeding.

Any ideas where the problem might be?

This sounds like it may be an issue with the Firewall blocking communication.  Are you noticing any traffic from the GFI server to your ISA server being blocked?  Many times this is because the IP address of the server has changed, but the firewall rule has not been updated in the ISA server.

Hello Drew,

I can confirm that the Firewall is not blocking the communication. The two servers that have Network Server Monitor installed are in the same rule in the ISA configuration. In fact I can monitor all other aspects of the ISA server. For example services, hard disk space, Web Monitor and etc. and only the General ISA 2004 check is failing.

Regards Alex

Do you get the message 'Installing WMI' on either machine if you open a command prompt and type: wmic
