chr1st1an -> Bayesian not working (20.Jun.2008 10:42:03 AM)

Hi everyone, I have a problem whit my mailessential configuration. The bayesian filter is not working since 2 months ago.
When I open the configuration window in the bayesian filter a message apears saying that the filter database doesn't have enough size to enable the filter. If I enable the filter anyway, after I close that window the message still apears if I open again those settings.
The database have always the same number of mails and is not increasing like it did before.
I tried to update de database but it's the same. Also I tried to delete some files that I think are the database itself. When I did this the bayesian database had + 50000 mails, after deleting it had 0 mails. I did an update and the database have now +4000 mails but still is not increasing.
What is happening??
Thanks and sorry for my english.

pd: I forgot, my mail system is based on Windows 2003 server, exchange 2004 and mailessential 11.

Christian

Christian,

Is GFI MailEssentials 11 installed on the Exchange server or is this installed on a gateway/relay machine?  If you open up the GFI Monitor and send out an email do you see it process through the monitor?  Do you have any anti-virus or backup software running on or against this machine?  If so please make sure ..\Program Files\GFI and ..\Program Files\Common Files\GFI are excluded from these scans.

Please make sure the folders are excluded from the anti-virus and backup software and then perform a manual reset of your Bayesian database.  To find out more on how to do this please visit http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002082 as it will walk you through this.
