Raymond1977 -> Unable to relay error (11.Jun.2008 9:44:12 PM)

Hi, I currently have both GFI MailEssentials and GFI Mail Security running successfully on a perimeter server, filtering and forwarding mail through to my exchange 03 box.

Our domain name is ####.com and a lot of people assume that because we are in Australia we have a .au extension also. To catch incoming emails on the .au extension i have set up an additional mx records for .au. I also added this into exchange, MailSecurity and Mailessentials, and created a test .com.au email address.

I am still getting 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay error messages. I'm pretty sure it is one of the GFI products making this message come up.

Any help?

On your perimeter servers are you running Exchange or just SMTP? Did you add the new domain to the SMTP on the perimeter server?

I added the domain name to the SMTP section of IIS and it now works.

Thanks for your help. I had assumed GFI would have added it to this area when the incoming domain names were nominated during installation, and didnt even think to check it.

Raymond1977,

GFI will not add these to your IIS configuration.  We use the settings configured for IIS and do not modify this.
