compsos -> Reducing Exchange Information Store size? (9.Jun.2008 10:54:47 AM)

We do not have GFI MA5 installed yet on our Exchange 2000 Server. Once we archive old email already in Exchange using the GFI export/import wizards, will this reduce our Exchange information store size - in particularly the priv1.edb  and priv1.stm files??

With Exchange 2000, we are limited to an Information Store 16GB and we are at 14GB.

Thanks

compsos,

GFI MailArchiver will not do this on it's own.  It does give you the ability to configure policies in Exchange that can limit the amount of messages in the Information Store through recipient policies.  You can configure Exchange to only keep messages for X amount of days and then let your users retrieve the older messages from GFI MailArchiver.
