Hello

I am having an issue with LNSS 8.0 Build: 20080326.

I am getting the unable to contant update server error message. I have read some other posts but none seem to have the specific config that we have here.

We use an external telco vendors proxy server to access the internet (high security site) and thus the login and password bear no association with any of our domain accounts.

I assume the proxy address and ports are picked up from IE but there is no way to enter the correct username and password.

Is there a way to get LNSS 8 to prompt for a username and password or a way to hard configure a username and password into the application?

There must be a way![:(]

Try logging on to the LNSS machine with the service user, configure proxy settings in IE and access some site to enter the credentials. Then log on to the machine as usual and check if you get the same error.

You might also get that error when in IE options > Advanced tab you have "Check for server certificate revocation" enabled.
