52 million events can definately take a while to move. Exactly how long, I can't say because as you said there are too many variables to take into consideration.
One suggestion would be to split up the move process into seperate jobs. For example, create multiple jobs and use the advanced filter to break up the job. You can have each job moving different event types e.g. one job will move all events in which the event type equals to error, another job that moves events with the event type of warnings, so on and so forth.
