We would need one of these things:

) max quarantine size
If more space is used than delete oldest items

) delete old items automatically
Delete items older than x days

Its absolut impossivle for us to delete the items manually. We can approve items if users request it but otherwise ist not monitored. Is there any option or workaround to do this?

Hello jtroester,

It is not possible to automatically delete items moved to the Quarantine database when they are larger than a preconfigured size.
However, to keep your Quarantine database from growing too large you could configure Search Folders and enable 'Auto-purging' on them.
This will allow you to delete items that match the search criteria automatically after a by you configured number of days.

I tried a filter with start date 01/01/2006 and end date 01/01/2012 (2020, 2099) and item source: any, but it does not find any items.
Auto Purging is set to 14 days-

How can I configure a Search Folder to purge all items older than x days with no other search criteria?

Hi
I suggest you create a search folder with one "Search Options" criteria filled in. Something like "Virus Scanning Engines" this will catch all emails blocked by any of the virus scanning engines.

Please note that the auto-purging does not happen automatically, it kicks in every 10hours.

My search folder did work today with the settings I described. It seems I had to wait some time after the update to the new version that search folders did work again.
