FresnoDoug -> Question about Public Folders (21.Apr.2008 5:24:36 PM)

We currently use Exchange public folders as a way to create a shared archive of project-related email. Typically, we have 200-300 of these folders open and active. Whenever any user receives or sends an email related to a given project, he or she moves a copy of the email to the project's public folder. When a project is finished, we export the mail to a PST and delete the folder.

I'm wondering how GFI Archiver could be used for our situation? Forwarding the emails from the public folders to dummy user accounts isn't viable because users don't typically mail to these folders, they simply drag and drop messages from their inboxes -- and that doesn't seem to trigger the forwarder.

I would love to kiss the hundreds of public folders good-bye if the GFI categories would provide the same cababilities. What I need is the ability for users to (1) identify a particular email, incoming or outgoing, as belonging to a particular job, and (2) allow all users to see email tagged for a job, regardless of whose inbox the email is in. The categories would have to be assigned by the users from their inboxes -- not from the GFI web search page.

Thanks,

Doug
