Running GFI NSM 7, I generate an uptime summary report on a monthly basis for management, and I'm getting some odd results this month. I can't help but feel I'm overlooking something obvious, but I've reviewed the report repeatedly and even tried generating it again. I thought that others might benefit from this discussion, but I'll be glad to submit a support request if necessary.

Over half of my monitoring checks are reporting anywhere from 100.06% to 100.13% "Up" time, and 2 minutes of "Not Monitored" time. All other columns on the report are 0.00%.

Any ideas? Can I provide any further detail?

Ideas:

1) NSM7 lets you borrow against the future. You were 100% up last month, and you will also be up in the future at least 0.13%. This is similar to the way my employer lets me use future vacation time that I will earn later in the year.

2) Daylight savings changes threw off the measurement. An extra hour might be worth 0.13% of your monthly time.

Looks like it was #2. Same problem, same time this year. I guess NSM doesn't account/adjust for DST.

Hello (again) everyone,

I posted the patch here -
http://ftp.gfisoftware.com/patches/nsm7/20090218/NSM7_PATCH_20090403_01.zip

Simply place the files found in the zip in the root of the Network Server Monitor 7 folder. As always please make sure that you backup your existing copies before apply the new files.

Please let us know if encounter any problems.
