On the "Failed to check for SpamRazer updates..." and other similar updates. Rather than just Send email when an update fails, it would be wonderfull to have an option for send email when the last [X number] of updates have failed. I get about 10 to 15 of these emails a day. I don't need to be informed about transient failures like that. Missing a few updates is not a big deal to me. But I do want to know if it has stopped updating for a significant length of time.

I second the above request! I'm not to interested in receiving an email if its missed an update the past 5 times, when its configured to check every 10 minutes. However, its its not updated in the past 2 or 3 hours or whatever, I would be interested in knowing.

Are there any plans to add a ReportPack to MailArchiver? We have recently downloaded and installed the report pack for the other GFI products we use and have been very impressed. Thanks

I think the ability for users to self-service themselves into the recipient digest would be useful. Rather than an admin having to add/remove everyone individually when they decide they want to be added, or removed. If we could send an email out saying 'this is what recipient digest is, this is the info you get, if you want it, do this' etc. Maybe have an email address for recpient_digest@domain.com that they could email with ON or OFF in the subject line, or using the existing 'GFI Antispam Folders' add an additional subfolder called 'Recipient Digest' that users could drop an email into, to turn it on or off. It would save me considerable time in troubleshooting if there was an option to insert X-headers as well as move the email to a folder. Currently if an email is sent to a folder I must comb through the logs to see which module triggered it rather than just opening the email and viewing the headers there. other features I second: -option for SQL database on all configurations and logs -database grooming scripts to clear space -regex filtering contexts

Dozero, Can't you just change the modules to enter their name in the 'Action' > 'Tag emial with following text'? We prepend all SPAM with [GFI SPAM - Keyword], [GFI SPAM - DNS Blacklist] or [GFI SPAM - Baysian] etc. This way its easy to tell which filter caught the SPAM. Then any message containing [GFI SPAM* is atomatically moved to the user Junk Email folder in Outlook. Ben

comb through the logs Instead of opening each log file in Notepad and searching, hopefully you are using a text searching tool (I use Agent Ransack) to search the entire log file directory contents at once.

I have searched through the existing threads, but haven't found anything, so sorry if this has been asked before. We use the Mail Monitoring feature extensively at my company to capture emails going to and from our customers (ie *@customer.com) and forward them to individual Public Folders for each customer. The issue is that I cannot exclude the PF's email address (because it's not a User/Group object) from the rule. Scenario: John@customer.com sends email to Jim@company.com and cc's Customer@company.com Rule is set up to forward *@customer.com to Customer@company.com The Customer@company PF will get two emails. IOW's, it would be great to be able to exclude emails that are already address to the monitored email address, so we don't have so many duplicate emails in the folders. Thanks, A

bjblackmore, sometimes there are false positives so the user will move or forward the email on somewhere else. They then need to remove that from the Header and they will complain so I prefer to use the move function. As well, I move my emails directly to a folder in the user's account therefore not requiring any custom actions to be added to the server or created on each client. If I tagged the email with an X-Header I would then need to create a rule on each persons outlook account. Same goes for the included Outlook Junk E-mail folder. joestern, I do use a search utility but if the logs could be integrated into a SQL database, I have many more options at my disposal.

ORIGINAL: RobertSeattle I'll second that as well. Obviously GFI ME already has the functionality as many of the debug logs are all pegged at 5121Kb in size. Great, ME stopped logging once my directoryharvest log reached 649,408,000 bytes! I renamed the file and it started logging anew (without service restarts). It doesn't look like it holds a persistent write lock on the file, which makes keeping the file to a reasonable size pretty easy - just rename daily. However, does this mean that it's opening the log for writing and closing it with every single log entry? It still doesn't solve the defrag issue - without a good starting size it's adding a cluster at a time to the file and they're not contiguous.

We need a recipient validation for ME in Gateway-Mode. A simple List of valid recipients in the local domain. SMTP should reject emails to unknown recipients ("User unknown") and tarpit via the registry-value "TarpitTime". For security reasons our gateway does not have access to ads.

Any thoughts on adding an option in the Bayesian section to perform different actions that exceed a user defined threshold in the Bayesian filter. For example, any item that the Bayesian filter determines to be 80% chance or greater of being spam delete, 30-79% chance might go into a "review folder" and anything 0-29% would simply be processed as normal mail. These numbers are all hypothetical and I don't know the true upper and lower values that the Bayesian filter uses to weigh the messages, but I think you get the idea.

Excluding mailboxes in AD-Mode is absolutely needed. Resource mailboxes and users only using internal e-mail do not need to be checked.

I would like to see an option in the Dashboard to filter the results. I know you can 'filter' know buts it kinda useless. I would like be able to filter out certain modules, like Directory Harvesting. and also i would like to filter on email address. (either sender or receipients)

I'd like a feature that basically answers the question, "How did this Spam get THROUGH GFI ME?". Although I "love" GFI, I still get SPAM and I want to know if: 1. Did the Spam get through due to a setting I made (Accidentaly white list, key word, etc) 2. Or did it "slip" through the various filters and thus needs to be addressed with some kindof Bayseian update?
