Yes, it is installed on member server. I tried to install it on member server, domain controller - the same error 1053. On freshly installed server (standalone) it works fine, but when I make it a member server, the same error appears.

This sounds like a credentials issue.  Do you have any other domain admin account you can run the GFI EndPointSecurity service as?

I created several Domain Admins accounts - the same error.

Having the same issue as everyone else. Not very confidence inspiring regading the stability of the product if it won't run out of the box.

Aside from the message that the service timed out there are no other errors in the event logs.

This is a new install and I just noticed the service wasn't started or starting when I restarted the server. I tried switching service accounts as mentioned earlier in this thread with the same results.

The reason of problem is to change password after installation. To solve this, enter the computer managemant/services/GFI endpointsecurity service/session and enter your current password. And start the service. Bye everyone...

I have the same problem since June, but did not have time to take care about that. I tried everything posted in this thread... nothing worked.
Changed User for starting the service, reinstalled EndPointSecurity (latest build)... I even installed .Net Framework 3.5!
I do not have anything like a Anti-Virus installed on this server.
It worked once... but since June suddenly it doesn't work anymore.
Also: I think now that I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, the agents won't work anymore and I will not be able to reinstall the agents. Or even worse, the agent won't uninstall from the client and it is not possible to control and configure the GFI Service.
What should I do? O_o
