Don't forget they're "added as feature request"s, which doesn't mean they'll definitely make it into the final product. For mine, I requested a "Feature request status sticky" where all FR's are listed with their respective "will implement/won't implement/don't be stupid" message. Plus other FRs.

GFI-- Please consider the Greylist application. i am currently running a 3rd party app and it has drastly brought down the amout of spam by almost 7 times as much 15000 to 2500. if this could be integrated in to the GFI ME i think this program would be even more useful in the war on spam. if any one that is reading this message and would like to know what i am using let me know.

Hi all, We will be monitoring this thread, but will not be replying to each post - most of the features requested in this thread have already been requested in other threads, and we have provided our feedback in the original posts. The BETA which has been released this week is NOT a new version. The same version has been retained, however quite a few changes have been implemented to make GFI MailEssentials compliant with Exchange 2007. This is the main reason for the releasing this new build in BETA. As always, we welcome such feature requests, and all will be logged and reviewed by product management.

Nicks, Sorry if I may sound as not appreciating the new beta-build with support for Exchange2007. This is not the case. However, I (and others with me) notice that there isn't added any new/improved value to GFI ME for some time. I totally agree with you, that it's possible that you (of course your team) don't put a lot of mandays in developping a feature request, that's requested by 1 person. However, I also see there are feature requests, that would cost a few hours to develop and that would make happy a lot of people. Do you have already a timeframe for a next "new version"? I also understand you can't/might not give an exact date, but I guess there would be a rough planning of approximatly that month...

Hi, I can assure you that the GFI MailEssentials team have been all kept busy with the changes which are required to support Exchange 2007 (even though these are not very apparent in the product itself). To add to this, we have tried to be as fast as possible in releasing updates for the waive of 'attachment spam' which has been experienced recently. At this point, it is still too early to provide any realistic time-frame for the next version. This will surely not occur in 2007 though. Thanks again for your feedback.

Half a year and three releases later since I compiled my feature requests (that are shared among many GFI users) into this thread , and not one single thing has been considered, not from my requests or others. A personal reflection - keeping up with Exchange server release versions isn't a valid "excuse" to not develop your product. If you cannot combine these two, then you will dig your own grave since your product will become unmodern, which it unfortunately already is in some senses. MS has tightened their product life time, and will probably continue to do so. Will the development of MailEssentials always suffer from trying to keep up with MS Exchange server releases? Are you saying it's time to change product?

I would also like to bump in a couple of old requests that I have had lying around, although I am too lazy to go and look them up. First is filter at point of communication, so we can deny traffic at point of communication as opposed to having to deal with it once it is already on our mail servers ( You can do it with event sync's in 2003 SMTP and 2007 allows you to perform the task with their API) Second, I would like to see REGEX implemented for the following: HELO communications, for Subject line, for body of message, for from, for to. Third, an automated process built into the GUI for automatically cleaning up the SQL database Enough from me

Would like to see someone at GFI respond to this again, and tell me what's happened with this since last time.

Hello Mats Bjur, As Nicks mentioned: "We will be monitoring this thread, but will not be replying to each post - most of the features requested in this thread have already been requested in other threads, and we have provided our feedback in the original posts" "As always, we welcome such feature requests, and all will be logged and reviewed by product management". Kind regards,

"As always, we welcome such feature requests, and all will be logged and reviewed by product management". in that case can you publish your current list and status ? so we can then atleast know whats been discounted and what maybe in the pipeline, as its not getting to the point i will have to move to another Anti-spam solution that is as dynamic as the spam situation.
