At this moment BitDefender seems right working.
My configuration is the same of this morning, but at least it not failed.

nicks, I performed the steps outlined in that document and BitDefender still shows the same signature as yesterday. I haven't gotten any updates from the auto updates but I also haven't gotten any errors like failed to download BitDefender files.
Please help or let me know if my signatures are up to date as the infor below was identical regardless of manual update.

I have the same signature number as you, and by comparing with the manually downloaded update file I believe mine are up to date. As at the time of this post, of course, which is about GMT 2005-03-09 22:45.

If you manuall updated the BitDefender virus definition files and engine files following the procedure at http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002298, you would be using the latest BitDefender virus definition files.
You can check this from <GFI\MailSecurity\antivirus\avx\update.txt> This should have the following text:
Update time: Tue Mar 8 16:57:34 2005
Signature number: 103456
Update time GMT: 1110286654
Version: 7.00677

nicks, thanks for the reply.
It is the same version but my concern is that before I did a manual update I had the latest BitDefender virus definition files but kept getting these error messages every hour "failed to download BitDefender files". Now since the manual update I haven gotten any failures but I also haven gotten any auto updates which is weird because BitDefender was practicly autoupdating atleast a couple of times a day.
Just concerned that the BitDefender engine problem is not totally out of the woods and still lingering.
Please update me on this.

Hi Boogie
I have exactly same situation and update failure messages as you. All has now gone quiet. Still no update since 103456.
I'll let you know if I do get an update. I compared the contents of the bitdefender zip file and they were exactly the same as the files in the avx directory so I believe I am OK at the moment. Maybe GFI is not putting any new bitdefender updates since 08/03/2005. We are probably noticing as they usually update bitdefender a lot (a few times a day).
