Hi,

Recently when I load EventsManager and go into Status -> Statistics the event counts are flatlined, however my events are being collected and the graph begins from the time in which I start EventsManager.

Is anyone else having this problem?  Please advise.

Thanks

Hi,

In order to troubleshoot this issue further we would need some debug logs. Can you please follow the steps below to send us your troubleshooter files?

1. Stop the GFI EventsManager service (Start > Run > services.msc)
2. Browse to ..\GFI\EventsManager 7\DebugLogs and clear the contents of the folder
3. Continue to follow the steps here http://forums.gfi.com/fb.aspx?m=900748005 to send us the debug logs

Thanks.

Sure. I'm not sure how to "reproduce the problem".  It just happens.  When I start the serivce and go in to the console all my devices show a last collected date of April 16th.  But I'll give it a shot.

This is a minor issue to me and one that I would prefer not to enable debugging for.  This morning it was working so it seems to be sporadic.

Are there plans to allow you to go back more than 1 day or a separate line to view the number of filtered/noise events?  Thanks.

hmmm.  Ok, so this is weird.  I did the troubleshooting steps, and sent the files in. And now ?  Now it's working perfectly.  How odd.  Zergster, the only thought I have is that adding the debug line to the xml file kicks something (maybe) and it starts working ?  It may be worth trying that.  Or not. :)

Now to see if I can cause it to break again ...

There we go. Broken again.  I changed debug to 0 and restarted and now my statistics are broken. Cool!

Hi,

Would you be able to run with debug enabled for a few days and wait for the problem to get reproduced?

Note that with debug enabled, EventsManager will process things slower then usual. You would notice this if you have a lot of computers being monitored by EventsManager. However, no events will be lost. The processing will just be delayed.

Thank you.

Sure, I can run with Debug enabled, but it never stops working with it enabled.  It just works.

I'll enable it now.

Ok, I've been running in debug since my last post and it always works fine.  Never fails.  Next Steps ?

Just want to let you know that we see the same issue sometimes: The "last activity" timestamp in the general tab "hangs" and a flat line in the statistic tab. But the events are collected and as soon as we use the EventsManager Tool the statistic chart starts working again.

I don't want to put much effort in debugging this as others are still doing it but please let me know when the issue will be fixed.

Any resolution to this? We are having the same issue.

It is collecting events and syslogs however when you look at the statisctics page, the default view of daily alerts for all machines is flat at 0. The graphs underneath appear to be correct.
