FaxMaker 12.0, Build 20070131 on Windows 2003 R2 server Using BrookTrout - 901-004-08 Trufax 200-R PCI 2 Channel Loop Start; Half Size Universal PCI I am having a heck of a time to get this to work. Every time we send a fax, we get the following error in the Monitor: Uninitialised Last error: Initialization failed : 23 I have tried setting the device to TruFax 200-R and TR1034+P2-2L-R. Both generate the same error when attempting to send a fax. Please help.

Can you please perform the following: 1) Stop the GFI FaxMaker Message Transfer Agent Service. 2) Stop the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server Service. 3) Download the latest Brooktrout drivers: ftp://ftp.gfi.com/brooktrout_tr1034.exe 4) Install the latest Brooktrout Drivers. 5) Start the GFI FaxMaker Message Transfer Agent Service. 6) Start the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server Service.

I must already have the latest version installed, I get the following when launching: This version of the GFI FAXmaker Brooktrout drivers are already installed.

Ekrauska, Can you please try perform the following: - Uninstall the BrookTrout Drivers - Restart the GFI FaxMaker Server - Re install the BrookTrout Drivers Thank you,

Are you using a TR1034 board with GFI FAXmaker 12? What is the driver version you have in use? Do you see any GUID strings/random character strings under your licensed users (if you do, please remove them and restart your GFI FAXmaker services)? How many users do you have in your environment? Please also make sure you have followed this knowledgebase article: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003317. Keep me posted with any updates.

Thanks for the reply Ernest. - We are using a TR1034 Board with Faxmaker 12
- Driver Version 4.1.0.0 of brooktrout_tr1034.exe
- I've read the KB doco and removed the directories specified from any Symantec virus scanning
- We have around 20 users in the environment
- I see no GUID strings etc under licensed users
Just to confirm - the TR1034 does not appear in the Hardware List In the Faxmaker log, I get the following: - 06/10/2009 21:05:42 - Brooktrout unit 0 - Could not attach line: Misc error: Destination address not found or invalid. 06/10/2009 21:05:42 - Brooktrout unit 1 - Could not attach line: Misc error: Destination address not found or invalid. All help will be appreciated - I've told my client that the Brooktrout solution will mean they see an end to the restart issues they are plagued with using the current US Robotics setup. You may want to update the drivers to be used with the TR1034 and GFI FAXmaker to a later driver set. Have the lines ever initialized under the GFI FAXmaker monitor for this hardware? You can locate the drivers for the TR1034 here -> ftp://ftp.gfiusa.com/Faxmaker/Brooktrout/Drivers/TR1034/x86Drivers/Faxmaker14.0/Brooktrout_TR1034_5.3.1.zip Another, better option for you, would be to upgrade to GFI FAXmaker 14 with that hardware and obtain the latest drivers built on a new SDK.

Ernest, Thankyou - using the new driver has progressed things somewhat - the device now appears in the hardware list, and appears as 'waiting for call' in Faxmaker Monitor. However, in a twist to the tale, when I try to edit my modems (to remove the two old modems and configure the two new ones) I'm getting a message telling me that my licence key is invalid. However when I check the licence I already have (4 lines/24 users), the app tells me that it is valid. I tried re-applying the licence but it made no difference. So, I'm a bit stuck - Faxmaker is recognising the device but I can't configure it. I see 4 modems in the monitor, 3 in the config app and can't add the fourth modem (line 2 on Brooktrout) I seem to be able to add\remove users without an issue. Thanks very much for your help so far - I think I'd have switched to another vendor by now if it hadn't have been for this forum! Regards Andy

Ernest, A little info from the stuff I just posted above - Having just searched the forum for more info on the latest issue, I stumbled across someone who has effectively followed the same route as me (I changed my search criteria to include subject and body and looked using the term 'license'). Is there any record of the ticket they opened to find the resolution? Thanks again Andy

Unfortunately not, but you can open a new case here: www.gfi.com/supportform. This may be line/device related, and the way the hardware was added. I think there is a good amount of configuration review that may need to be done, as the hardware could be improperly added.
