I wonder if this is a performance issue witht GFI's update servers. Currently, updates are failing. From my GFI SMTP Gateway server I can ping update.gfi.com, but when I use IE to browse to update.gfi.com it take about 3-4 minutes until I'm prompted for a username and password. Normally when I test this it's instant. Maybe it's a timeout issue? Just a thought.

Hello,

We also get failure messages since last Friday (16 February 2007) every day between 19:00 and 20:00 (GMT +1) for all antivirus, exploit and trojan updates.

I have saved a list of failures here:  AVFailures.pdf
All times listed are GMT.

As you can see we have sporadic failures during the day (our server is set to update every hour), but every day from 17:00/18:00 until 19:00/21:00, we always have failures.

Hope this helps someone! If there is a particular log file I could send that would be of more use?

My updates showed failures at the same time as dhambleton, but on 2/23/2007. Now today, 2/24/2007, I only had AVG fail to download updates and only happened once. On 2/23/2007, I had three failed attempts at updating all three anti-virus updates during the same times as dhambleton. Later in the day they updated fine.

Ok, so now it looks more and more like a pattern to me. For the last week, almost all my update failures are occuring between 12:00 PM EST and 2:00 PM EST.

GFI SUPPORT! Is anyone looking into this?

Yes, there is a pattern. Mine failed again today starting at 11:40AM. The last failure was at 1:33PM Central Time. All Mail Security and Mail Essential updates failed during this time frame.

We've been experiencing this issue for the past week and a half.  Figured GFI would have fixed it by now, but apparently not...

Add me to the (long) list of customers with constantly failing updates.

Getting failures here on: AVG, BitDefender & Norman AV updates, as well as Trojan & EXE scanners.
Most failures are occurring between 12 & 3PM ET.

GFI, please escalate this issue as it is affecting quite a few customers (and likely more who aren't squeaking up).

Add me to the list too.

Pretty much identical problems as have already been posted.

GFI Support:

Please post update (if any) and please post resolution once it's been achieved.

Thanks,

-JPB
