This issue has been resolved. I used filemon to troubleshoot installation and see where it was failing. Found out that some .NET files were missing. Repairing .NET fixed that and I also turned off DEP. I added AlwaysOff switch in boot.ini file to completly turn off DEP. See article on DEP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352 After the above steps the installation went fine.

Hi, on our P4 system with hardware DEP support, MA4 and its update from MA3 runs smoothly without DEP disabling or any Opt-Out for this GFI product. Opt out is necessary for some other GFI products (i.e. Mail Security), but not for MA3, MA4 and ist update. We even tested the update within a fully virtual server environment (DC, Client, Exchange and SQL server) with software based DEP inside the virtual servers, of course. The host was based onto a Core 2 Duo processor (with hardware based DEP for the MS virtual server software). Correct installing and registering of the NET 2.0 environment instead was necessary, just as you mentioned. Yours KM
