I am interested in the bandwidth consumption of windows event log collection.
At the scheduled interval does a windows event log (eg Application Log) have to be downloaded in full by Events Manager or does it only download the newest events.

I ask becuase I wonder if it is practical to download events from a remote site over 512Kbits vpn  link.

So to clarify .....
If eventlog contains 10,000 records at first download interval and 10,002 records  at second download interval does events manager only have to download the 2 new events or the whole event log again.
