Hi,

I try this solution with MAR3 and it doesn't work. I insert the described lines in both product.config files. The services are started correctly, but anyone can see the configuration tab on the webinterface.

Any ideas?

Hello

In MAR3 you can only restrict the access to the "Configuration" tab, but not hide it.

There are a couple of ways to restrict the access. The simplest is to set the corresponding NTFS permissions on the ASPNET\Configuration folder (but make sure to give read access to the Network Service user)

I am having this issue with MAR5, but I do not see a link to the knowledge base article in question.

I need to change this behavior ASAP, because we need to prevent some of our Domain Admins from modifying the configuration or having access to the messages in the archive.

Why isn't this in the manual - this is a potentially huge hole in the products security.
