We are also having problems with the events not showing up in our reports. One other issue I found as well was the option to clear the event logs was not checked but it cleared them anyway.

Hi,
Have you checked the settings for event logs from the Windows Event Viewer? This might be set to overwrite events or someone might have cleared the logs manually.

Good morning, thanks for the tip.
We were having trouble with our reporting software before and set our event logs to never overwrite and made them large enough that we could go a week or more without having to dump them. I double checked the settings and they are still that way.
The only thing I can think of is my attempt to backup the current events in the main database to the second database. I'm pretty sure that it was set to just copy the data but I guess I could have done it wrong, I will review that part of the documentation again. I dont see how doing a backup "replication" of the data from one data base to another could have effected my settings.
It only did it that one time and seems to be retaining the data now.

I am also having an odd issue with the Report Pack. I choose a Custom Date for failed logins and I give a 24 hour time from from Day 1 3:00pm - Day 2 3:00pm. The problem is the report only shows data for the Day 2. I know there is data to be displayed because I ran it for 36 hours Day 1 - Day 2 and there it is.
Any idea why this might happen?

Hi,
When you run the report for 36 hours, what is the time of the failed logon events for Day 1?

When I run the 36 hour report from Day 1 3am - Day 2 3pm, I get reports from 8am - 10:41pm is the last recorded event. But the 24hour reports leaves all the day1 events missing.

We too are experiencing issues with non-collection of event 644. Obviously due to regulations and policies, this poses a significant problem for us. Is there any ETA on when a build will be released to fix these issues?

Hi John,
The issue with collecting 644 events was fixed and is available in a CTP build located at http://ctp.gfi.com/2006_10_27_EventsManager7.exe.
Another build is also going to be uploaded which fixes an issue related to rules with coverage for example a rule that triggers all events by a certain user.

A new build has been uploaded and is available from http://ctp.gfi.com/eventsmanager7.exe
This build should fix the following issues:
- Problems in the processing rule system
- 'Last Activity' date not updating in the Status Monitor
- Scanning problems
- Service shutdown issues
