"The GFI EventsManager WAN Connector is designed specifically for multiple domain/geographical sites. It connects the various database backends to a single data source, allowing you to consolidate all or part of the events data collected on to one central database. Reports can then be run using data from the central database.

Note: the GFI EventsManager WAN Connector will be available by end 2006."

I too appreciate your comments as we have just recently begun to use this product and are experiencing the same situations. Unfortunately, in my circumstances the new WAN connector won't resolve the problem. As I understand it, the WAN connector will consolidate the data from multiple EM servers onto one for centralized monitoring and reporting. That is assuming you are running multiple servers. In retail situations, we have hundreds of stores each with a single server serving that location. It's not practical to run an EM server in each site and then use the WAN connector. However, it's ideal to configure our corporate server to collect from those remote locations in an effective manner. The WAN connector is definitely a nice addition to the products capability but it use is ideally deployed in a specific environment. I hope development continues to improve the product with these other conditions in mind.
