What's new within GFI LANguard N.S.S. ReportCentre 3.5


The GFI LANguard N.S.S. 7 ReportPack is a full fledged reporting companion to GFI LANguard Network Security Scanner. This reporting package can be used to generate graphical and tabular reports based on the data collected during your security scans.
The following is a list of different reports that can be generated:
  • Executive reports: Provide an overview and trend analysis information through  graphical reports.
  • Statistical reports: Provide information related to vulnerability and operating system distribution throughout the network.
  • Technical reports: Provide technical information on vulnerabilities, missing patches and trojans.
  • Top 20 reports: These reports provide the top 20 most vulnerable hosts based on open ports, missing patches or trojans.

The GFI LANguard N.S.S. ReportPack makes use of the new GFI ReportCenter reporting technology. With the functionality offered by the GFI ReportCenter you can:
  • Generate reports on the fly.
  • Export generated reports to PDF, XLS, DOC, RTF and HTML.
  • Generate reports on a schedule and send results by email. 
  • Save reports that are generated on a schedule and the results that were emailed.
  • Save scheduled reports to disk as PDF, XLS, DOC, RTF and HTML.
  • Bookmark favourite reports.
  • Print reports.

FIXED: Installation looses scheduled reports when upgrading*
FIXED: Registry handles leak produced when ReportCenter framework is open
FIXED: HTML exports to volumes different from the ReportCenter volume will not be exported

Changes within this build include:
  • UPDATE: TO and CC fields in the Email Alerts Options dialog have been updated to support multiple recipients through the use of the semi-colon character
  • FIXED: ReportCenter does not always open properly on Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 2008
  • FIXED: Scheduling reports not imported during GFI ReportCenter upgrades
  • FIXED: Switching from the GFI FAXmaker ReportPack to the GFI MailSecurity ReportPack does not work
  • FIXED: Trying an invalid license key and pressing OK in license key dialog will not close the dialog
  • FIXED: Buttons in licensing and database dialogs invisible on Windows XP using Chinese language
  • FIXED: Scheduled reports exported using HTML have their images overwritten, invalidating images in previously exported HTML reports
  • FIXED: Minor issues found in the exporting and importing functionality of both ReportCenter and ReportPack settings.

New features in GFI ReportCenter 3.6 include:
  • Localization to German, Italian, Spanish and Russian
  • Updated reporting rendering engine to Crystal Reports 12 
  • Built on updated version of Microsoft .Net Framework: 2.0


Note: Old ReportPack applications compiled for ReportCenter 3.5 are compatible and will run under ReportCenter 3.6.

Limitations:

GFI ReportCenter 3.6 will not install on Microsoft Windows 2000. More details here
