Is this always from a particular sender?

Are they sending faxes using an A3 FaxMachine?

NOTE: This issue is generally generated by the Device which is used by GFI FaxMaker. The actual file which is recieved by the Device / Drivers will be approximatly 0kb or 1kb, and GFI FaxMaker will be unable to process it, hence the error message Invalid Fax Size.

Thank you

No, It always from a comapny.

If they send bij A3 faxmachine, how can we reslove this. They send faxes to us in A4 paper. The very strange thing is that they can fax to another gfi faxmaker without any problem.

has there been a definitve resolution or software upgrade to fix this issue yet? Am having the same issue using a brooktrout BrookTrout TruFax 200 2 port board. Cant find anything on Cantata website regarding issue, and given GFI's apparently good relationship with this third-party, perhaps we could get a blanket resolution posted here?

Hello

At this point we have concluded that the Fax Card is not accepting faxes beyond a certain width which triggers the Invalid Fax Size Error

This is an unsupported fax size for the driver which GFI FaxMaker has no control over.

Thank you!

I've been dealing with someone from Cantata (we have TruFax analogue card) and they have been really helpful. In fact im impressed with the responses from both there and here, in this forum.

Anyway, according to the debug logs is sent them, generated from GFI Faxmaker monitor, the fax card/driver has connected, done the handshake and just prior to the point when it should start recieving actual fax data (directly after the line 'CFR Confirmation to receive' in the log) the line drops out and then the fax card/driver times out, at this point (awaiting confirmation) it looks as though it sends the recieved data up to GFI Faxmaker, which is either just the header data or no data at all. So that supports Mark's post 16 about why it reports as invalid fax size.

Im waiting to hear back from Cantata if they can garner any more information about why the line dropped out, but i imaging the cause is somewhere else. In our case we have our fax lines plugged into an analogue device extension of our IP phone system, which in turn is linked into an ISDN line. So its possible the issue is comming from there, perhaps other people who are having this issue are in a similar situation?

I'll post more information as it comes to hand.

We are behind a Alcatel OmniPCX R5.1 PBX with 4 Alcatel 4094 ISDN S0 Adapters and a Eicon Diva 4BRI ISDN Multichannel Card. We now sometimes recieve that "invalid faxsize" error but the sender now got an "failed". With our AVM C4 Card the sender got an "OK" when we got a "invalid fax size" error and this was absoltly inacceptable ... now 0,1% of our faxes fails, and the sender now know that it fails, with the AVM it was about 1-2% of all faxes wich fail but the sender got an OK ... this is ok i think. I also think that this issue is related to the driver of the Modem/ISDN Adapter wich recieves the faxes and has nothing to do with GFI ... or at least not only ;)

greetings, Fabian

I think i've managed to fix the issue at our site, havent had the error in 5 days and before we were getting it at least twice a day. As suspected it was to do with our IP Phone system, i managed to find a setting to specify that the path from the ISDN to the fax extensions were reserved for data comms only, rather than data and voice.

So if you're still stuck on this error, id investigate all systems/devices sitting between the fax card/modem and the connection to the outside world. Good luck!
